review

The essential test for a consumer video editor is how quickly it lets you create polished, high-quality productions. By that measure, Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 is a winner. It also has the tools—including support for HDV and for output to iPods and PSPs—to take you wherever your creative urges lead.

Bottom Line

Still the best editing/authoring combination on the planet for home and novice business video producers.

Pros

New interface should make the program more accessible to novices. Outputs to iPod and PSP. High-quality (and matching) titles and DVD menus. Can edit slide shows created in Photoshop Elements.

Cons

Still lacks consumer-oriented effects. A bit slower in rendering than its competition.
