review

If you're familiar with Grado headphones, you know that Grado Labs makes some of the best headphones in the world, ranging in price from about $70 to nearly $1,000. These headphones are known not only for their exceptional sound but for their bulky, retro-cool design. When I found out that the company was going to produce a street-style low-end headphone called the iGrado, I was immediately skeptical. After seeing a picture of the headphones, I was even more suspicious. The $49 iGrado headphones lack the funky retro vibe of their more expensive siblings, and their sound quality doesn't impress me either.

Bottom Line

I usually love Grado headphones, but these are not the ones to get. They use the same drivers as the popular SR60, but the enclosures are very different and the sound quality suffers. Also, they lack the retro-cool vibe of all other Grado models.

Pros

Good bass. Comfortable. Compact behind-the-neck design.

Cons

Less-than-stylish looks. Highs are slightly muted. Mids are too powerful.
