D-Link RangeBooster N 650 Wireless Router DIR-635 (with RangeBooster N 650 Notebook Adapter DWA-645)

D-Link RangeBooster N 650 Wireless Router DIR-635
With Adapter Angle Top

review

The D-Link (www.d-link.com) RangeBooster N 650 Wireless Router DIR-635 is D-Link's first offering in the 802.11n market, and it's a solid entry in just about every aspect—except the one that counts the most: performance. Though it doesn't get the worst results we've seen for draft-n routers, it's still not good enough.

Spec Data
  • Price as Tested:
  • Networking Options: Draft N
  • Device Type: Router

Bottom Line

With an updated interface and case design, the DIR-635 is easy to configure and use. The router is feature-packed, but ultimately disappoints because of poor performance.

Pros

Great interface and documentation, better performance than 802.11g products.

Cons

Performance lower than expected for draft-n, and lower than pre-n products.
