review
The miniDVD format for camcorders is becoming increasingly popular with each passing year for one main reason: convenience. Consumers can record video, then play it back on the same 8cm DVD disc, right on their DVD player. The overall quality has never been as good as what I've found on miniDV camcorders, but Sony's high-end DCR-DVD505 Handycam ($1099.99 list) comes very close. And that is why we've awarded it an Editors' Choice.
