SanDisk Sansa c150

SanDisk Sansa c150

review

The SanDisk Sansa c150 is a flash-based MP3 player available in 1-gigabyte (model c140, $109.99 list) and 2-gigabyte ($169.99 list) models. It runs on a standard triple-A battery, has an FM tuner, does voice and FM recording, and supports Audible.com content as well as subscription and download music services. The sound quality isn't stellar, but it gets the job done, and the player itself is fairly light and compact. The c150 has a color screen and supports photos, but this is really meant as an easy-to-use budget digital audio player with very few frills. Two things that could really use some improvement, however, are the responsiveness of the buttons and the music-browser navigation.

Bottom Line

The SanDisk Sansa c150 is a cheap player in every way, but it has some redeeming qualities.

Pros

Very competitively priced. Compatible with subscription services and Audible. Has a custom five-band EQ. Very lightweight. Works with WMP or drag and drop.

Cons

FM tuner and Audible playback are glitchy. Menu navigation is sometimes awkward. Controls feel cheap and are unresponsive. Ho-hum battery life. Screen looks terrible. Weak bass. Poor-quality recording features.
