DLO nanoTune

DLO nanoTune

review

If you own an iPod nano, you should know about the DLO nanoTune ($69.99 direct). It's a hard case that has a built-in FM tuner, FM transmitter, and headphone amplifier. The case is definitely protective, though it won't keep out stuff like water or sand, and it won't protect the click wheel. And beware: The device runs off the power from your iPod, so it will drain your iPod battery faster than usual.

Bottom Line

The DLO nanoTune is an iPod nano accessory that combines an FM tuner, an FM transmitter, and a headphone amp all in a single protective case. It's great if you have high-impedance or inefficient headphones, but be aware of the battery drain.

Pros

Protects iPod nano from scratches. Built-in headphone amplifier is great for high-end headphones. Doesn't require batteries. FM tuner is strong.

Cons

Doesn't support FM presets. Drains iPod battery quickly. Headphone amp feature can't be turned off.
