Blueado Mini m5e

Blueado Mini m5e

review

Blueado's Mini m5e ($1,499.99 direct) is one of those systems that made me immediately think, "I gotta have one of those!" when I saw it. Compact and silent, it's a Media Center PC made to squeeze into the home theater, living room, bedroom, or even the den without much fuss. There are some design flaws, however, and the M5e isn't compatible with the latest crop of HDTVs.

Bottom Line

The Blueado m5e Media Center PC has a few limitations and annoyances, but is worth taking a look at if you want to hook up an MCE PC to an HDTV monitor that's 3-7 years old or to a regular standard TV.

Pros

Quiet. Compact. Microsoft Media Center Keyboard. Can fit in bedroom, living room, or den. Comes with plenty of adapter cables for different TVs (except HDMI and DVI). Slot-mounted DVD writer.

Cons

Included 802.11b/g wireless adapter isn't WPA-security compliant. Wireless USB adapter is awkward and can block ports. No HDTV tuner. No HDMI or DVI connector.
