Some all-in-one printers (AIOs) are designed for the office. Others are meant for general home use. Still more, like the Canon Pixma MP800R Photo All-In-One ($399.99 direct), target the photo enthusiast who wants a standalone photo lab in addition to a printer, scanner, and standalone copier. This extremely capable device isn't for everyone, but if you have a collection of 35mm slides and negatives that you'd like both to print from and turn into digital files, the MP800R is one of the best choices around. (Its sibling, the MP830, is better suited as an AIO that's good for printing photos, not scans.)
