HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7360n PC

HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7360n PC

review

Sure, the case is not the console-style, living-room-friendly design I was hoping for, but the HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7360n PC's tower ($1,610 direct, $1,200 without monitor) can still fit comfortably in the office or den. Looks aside, this powerful media center can complete regular multimedia projects such as composing, encoding, and burning video DVDs. and its included TV/DVR capability makes it a welcome addition, especially when a family feud is breaking out over whether to watch Lost or American Idol. It's also Intel ViiV compliant, ensuring its multimedia-ness (but more on that later).

Bottom Line

The m7360n is an adept Media Center PC with power and storage capabilities above the norm.

Pros

Wireless keyboard, mouse, and networking. Viiv compatible. Lots of memory and hard drive space. HP Personal Media Drive bay.

Cons

Tower isn't living-room-friendly. Deletes iTunes and iPod support from previous versions. Ugly Microsoft IR receiver. Short (60-day) Norton Internet Security subscription.
