For those who like to travel very light, the Creative TravelDock 900 provides an ultracompact but surprisingly good-sounding speaker solution for portable audio players. Housed in a white plastic frame that folds up to roughly the size of a sunglasses case, the TravelDock 900 runs on four triple-A batteries (included), which Creative says give you up to 32 hours of playback time (we used Energizer lithium batteries and got significantly more playback time). The whole thing weighs 9.3 ounces with alkaline batteries—a negligible extra load in our stuffed backpack.
