All too often, network problems are a result of a bad cable or using a straight cable when a crossover cable is needed. To address these problems, Smartronix (www.smartronix.com) has introduced two low-cost ($5.99 each) "SuperLoopers" that, though simple, are incredibly useful.

These simple, inexpensive Ethernet jack/plug combinations used for loopback testing and to convert a standard Ethernet cable to a crossover cable are a no-brainer. Every network person should have one of each in a tool kit or on a key ring.
