"Wars not make one great," Yoda once said. But simple robotics and prerecorded lines not make this toy great, though the detailed sculpture of the Yoda bot is fun to look at. Yoda tells stories, bestows wisdom, and provides a trivia challenge. The interactivity is limited, however, to squeezing Yoda's hands to access menus and taking part in the wisdom and trivia activities. As an interface, this is far from perfect, and slightly creepy. The 500-plus phrases, which feature the voice of Frank Oz, quickly become stale. Worst of all, the motorized parts of this Yoda are stiffer than Hayden Christensen's acting.
