Hitachi DZMV780A

Hitachi DZMV780A

REVIEW

MiniDVD camcorders, like the new Hitachi DZMV780A ($799.99 list), are designed to make it easy for consumers to record to disc and then use that same disc to watch the video. But, as we've noticed in the past, implementation isn't always so easy. Disc compatibility, for example, has been an issue—our biggest complaint about Hitachi's otherwise capable device.

Cons

MiniDVD-RAM format not compatible with all DVD hardware. Color is sometimes oversaturated. Pricey.
