REVIEW

The Rio Carbon Pearl combines sleek, slender good looks with top-notch audio performance to make a pocket- and ear-pleasing audio player that also records voice. Although the Pearl version of the Rio Carbon borrows some of its white-and-chrome styling from the iPod, the effect is entirely different. The screen is smaller but highly legible. And the Carbon Pearl gives you two ways to navigate: with the rocker/center button or the side-mounted wheel. We found ourselves using both in conjunction with the side-mounted menu button.
