Look at the Alienware DHS-511 and you'll see the future of Media Center PCs. Unlike most models that have come to market, the DHS-511 has a chassis that makes it look the part of a home-theater component, not a PC. It's also one of the first Media Center machines we've tested that use an AMD Athlon 64 CPU (the 3500+) rather than the Intel Pentium 4.

Bottom Line

With quite possibly the best form factor for the living room, the Alienware DHS-511 works well as the home entertainment PC it aims to be. And it's reasonably priced for what you get.

Pros

Looks like a home-theater component, not a PC. Handy readout on front panel shows pertinent info. Room for extra internal hard drives. AMD Athlon 64 power.

Cons

Needs a little more than 160GB of hard drive space if you like to keep a season's worth of several shows.
