If you're looking to save money on a digital camcorder, there are several options in the under-$500 family. But we have yet to see a value-priced camcorder that knocked our socks off; even our Editors' Choice in this category, the JVC GR-D33US , only garnered 3.5 stars. So take it in context when we say the Canon ZR200 is one of the better sub-$500 camcorders around.
