Sirius Sportster

Sirius Sportster

REVIEW

Sirius and XM, the two major satellite radio services, having proved their viability by attaining 3 million subscribers collectively in their first three years of operation, are turning up the volume as they target new customer segments. One of the largest radio markets is sports, and Sirius hits a home run with its $100 Sportster portable tuner. The Sportster lets you select a favorite NFL team and when a game or coach's-corner show comes over the airwaves, an alert pops up that lets you jump directly to the program.

  • Price as Tested: $100.00 Street
  • Type: Car, Home
  • Service: Sirius

Bottom Line

The Sirius Sportster is an adequately small and portable satellite-radio tuner. It's not as small as Delphi's Roady2, but its display is bigger.

Pros

Small, portable Sirius satellite radio tuner for car, home, or boom box. Automatically alerts you to any shows featuring your favorite NFL team. Large display. Includes small remote.

Cons

Several small ones, none significant. Not as small as XM's smallest (the Delphi Roady2). Dash/console mount bulky in small cockpits. Tiny remote. Oblique manual.
