Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3

Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3

REVIEW

The one problem most people have with digital photography is that printing your own photos isn't as easy as dropping off a roll of film. The Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 can solve that problem, at least if you have a Kodak camera or other manufacturer's ImageLink camera that docks with it. We tested it as part of a bundle that includes the Kodak EasyShare Z740 camera ($500 street for the package), but the printer will be available on its own ($150 street).

Bottom Line

The Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 works best printing directly from Kodak cameras or those that support the new ImageLink standard. It prints high-quality photos easily, but as with the previous generation, the price of its consumables needs to go down.

Pros

Integrates with ImageLink cameras and all current Kodak digital cameras to make printing as easy as possible. Also prints from PictBridge cameras and computers, with the option to print from memory cards.

Cons

Limited to 4- by 6-inch output, although you can print multiple photos on a page and cut to size. High per-print cost (62 cents) compared with ink jet-based photo printers.
