The Lexmark P915 Home Photo Printer ($149.99 direct) is best understood as the printer-only version of Lexmark's P6250 All-In-One. The two models introduce a new consumer-appliance look and feel for Lexmark printers, with rounded edges, two-tone silver and gray coloring, and a new focus on ease of use. Both introduce newfound speed as well. The P915 isn't a speed demon, but it's fast enough to make it the fastest ink jet we've seen from Lexmark.

Bottom Line

The Lexmark P915 Home Photo Printer 6250 offers reasonable, but not outstanding, speed for the price, along with such ease-of-use features as ink-cartridge-loading instructions on the color LCD. Output quality, however, is in the middle-to-low range for ink jet printers.

Pros

Reasonably fast performance for both business applications and photos. Prints directly from cameras and memory cards.

Cons

Quality ratings are relatively low for an ink jet.
