CTX P972

CTX P972

REVIEW

The CTX P972 is a 19-inch LCD monitor that is less expensive than many 17-inch models. You might expect a stripped-down model at this price, but it has a number of premium features, such as portrait-mode rotation and built-in speakers. Unfortunately, it also has a number of flaws that take the shine off its appeal.

Bottom Line

The P972 from CTX is hampered by a number of flaws, but the fact remains that it is a 19-inch LCD monitor priced below many 17-inch models. If you're going to use it only for general productivity applications and in landscape mode, it's a bargain. But if you plan to do more with it, you'll be disappointed.

Pros

Bargain price for a 19-inch monitor. Portrait-mode rotation. Built-in speakers.

Cons

Below-average image quality. Poor viewing-angle performance in portrait mode. Printed documentation is extremely limited.

Welcome to a revolutionary new dimension in LCD TV technology. With a depth of less than one inch at its thinnest point, and a contrast ratio of 1 million to 1, the AQUOS Limited Edition Series is the culmination of 35 years of Sharp’s LCD innovation. Unmatched picture quality, ultra-thin design, and low energy consumption: it will change the way you watch TV. Part of Sharp’s line of 120 Hz LCD TVs.
