Bottom Line

The HP LaserJet 9050dn is a heavy-duty departmental printer built around a 50-page-per-minute engine. It can print on paper up to tabloid size, and, as tested, includes a duplexer. There are also plenty of paper-handling options available to complement its 300,000 page per month duty cycle.

Pros

To call it fast is an understatement. Output quality is among the best available for monochrome lasers. Ample paper-handling for departmental printing.

Cons

Heavy-duty paper-handling capability results in a big printer, at 168 pounds. Maximum resolution is only 600 by 600 dpi, plus enhancement features.
