REVIEW
[Editor's note: The HP 4350dtn was not awarded an Editors' Choice award when compared with the other printers in this review. The EC logo here reflects a previous standalone review of the product.]
Big brother to the HP LaserJet 4250n and part of the HP LaserJet 4250/4350 series, the HP LaserJet 4350dtn ($2,180 street) offers the fastest engine speed of any printer we've tested this year and is our Editors' Choice for monochrome laser printers for non-tabloid-size printing. At a claimed 55 pages per minute (ppm), its tested speed is tied with the fastest printer we've seen, the HP LaserJet 9050dn. It's limited to a maximum of legal-size paper. But as with the somewhat slower LaserJet 4250n, if you don't need anything larger, it can save you a bundle over a tabloid-size departmental printer.
