Cambridge MicroWorks II

Cambridge MicroWorks II

REVIEW

Cambridge SoundWorks invented the satellite speaker system, and its pioneering MicroWorks model was one of the first to move this cost-effective design from the living room to the desktop. Now, more than a decade later, the company has resurrected the MicroWorks name with a new three-piece offering that delivers significantly more output and bass than its predecessor.

Bottom Line

Cambridge has revived its pioneering MicroWorks brand with a higher-powered offering that has more in common with the company's pricier MegaWorks line than with the original MicroWorks. The result is a system that falls somewhere between the two in terms of volume levels, bass output, and overall sound quality.

Pros

Moderately high volume levels. Tight, detailed bass. Reasonable price.

Cons

Strident high end. No deep bass.
