The Lexmark P6250 Home Photo Center All-In-One, along with the related P915 printer, introduces a new design for Lexmark: rounded edges, two-tone silver and gray coloring, a consumer-appliance look and feel, and a new focus on ease of use. But the most important new feature is speed. The P6250 is by far the fastest ink jet AIO we've seen from Lexmark.

Bottom Line

The Lexmark P6250 is easy to use, with a color LCD that offers such features as ink-cartridge loading instructions. It also offers significantly better speed than most ink jet AIOs, particularly for business applications. However, photo-output quality is in the middle to low range for a model with "Photo" in its name.

Pros

Reasonably fast performance for business applications and photos. Direct printing from cameras and memory cards. Includes a utility to scan and fax using your PC's modem.

Cons

No built-in fax modem. The good rating for photo output is below expectations for an ink jet-based photo printer.
