Avery Personal Label Printer 9100

Avery Personal Label Printer 9100

REVIEW

When we looked at the Avery Quick Peel Automatic Label Peeler—a one-trick pony that speeds the peeling of labels from label sheets—we were impressed. We thought Avery was on to something, providing a highly welcome convenience with the potential to be as essential to the modern office as the paperclip. So when Avery said it had a new label printer that also peeled labels, we looked forward to seeing it. And, indeed, the Avery Personal Label Printer 9100 ($100 street) adds a label-peeler function to what's otherwise a typical label printer. Unfortunately, it's also a bit of a letdown.

Bottom Line

The Avery Personal Label Printer 9100 is a reasonably typical label printer in most ways, but adds a label-peeler feature that you can use as needed. Unfortunately, the feature is not implemented as well as it could be, so it requires an extra step to print.

Pros

Prints labels up to 2 1/8 inches wide. Includes an option that lets it peel labels as it prints them.

Cons

Label-peeler function is clumsy to use. Software has some annoying features and lacks some obvious designs for label formats.
