If you need a workhorse monochrome printer, the Oki Data OKI B6300n belongs on your short list. Built around a 35-page per minute (ppm) laser engine, the printer delivers both speed and output quality, with a 150,000 page per month duty cycle as icing on the cake.

Bottom Line

File the OKI B6300n under workhorse monochrome printer, with excellent text quality, acceptable graphics, better photos than most monochrome lasers, and print speeds that truly show off the 35 page per minute (ppm) engine. Despite having stubbed its toe on some PowerPoint slides, it's well worth considering.

Pros

Blazingly fast performance. Excellent text quality. Better photo quality than most monochrome laser printers. Maximum 1,800-sheet paper capacity.

Cons

Default settings won't print some PowerPoint slides properly.
