Bose Companion 3

Bose Companion 3

review

The Bose Companion 3 is unlikely to impress hardcore gamers and audiophiles, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a lot to offer. This three-piece system won't produce deafening output levels or bottomless bass, and its integrated sound-sculpting circuitry will horrify purists. But it delivers spacious, sparkling output with enough volume and low end to satisfy most listeners.

Bottom Line

The Bose Companion 3 is a great-looking, solidly built three-piece system that produces moderately high volume levels, snappy bass, and a delightfully transparent, spacious midrange. It lacks deep bass output and is a bit too bright for our taste, but neither of these flaws is enough to negate its formidable strengths.

Pros

Spacious, uncolored sound. Stylish good looks. Touch-sensitive control puck.

Cons

Won't shake the floor. Sounds thin with some source material.
