The Slim Devices Squeezebox is a digital media receiver that plays your PC's MP3 files on your stereo. Unlike similar devices from HP, Linksys, SMC, and others that take over your TV set as the visual interface to show what tunes you've picked, the Squeezebox uses a 2-line, 40-character fluorescent display that's integrated into the compact case. The features are first-rate, including both 802.11b and 802.11g wireless and wired Ethernet, analog and digital output, a remote that lets you spell out song names, and the ability to work with Linux servers as well as PCs and Macs. The device is compatible with MP3 and AAC formats but unfortunately not WMA files.
