The GoVideo D2730 combo DVD player provides two useful technologies in one home audio component. It's a DVD player with progressive-scan technology, which gives you high-quality video if your TV can handle it. The D2730 is also a digital-media hub that plays MP3 and WMA files, JPEG photo slide shows, and MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 videos from any networked home PC on your TV or stereo. A PC Card–based wired Ethernet adapter is included; you can replace it with a wireless card for about $50. You control the media player using the included remote and your TV screen. This is the best idea yet from the company that invented the dual-deck VCR.

A great idea, great DVD player, great streaming software marred only by a poor user interface and indexing software. Supplied ID3 tag reading and editing software is very limited. Playlists duplicate entries in the database. Track numbers on CD's are not recognised so songs appear in alphabetical order only. All of which can make for some pretty timesome song searching. When these minor niggles get sorted by a software update, this will be one awesome product.
