DI Neuros 20GB HD MP3 Digital Audio Computer

Digital Innovations deserves its name for taking wireless to another realm—but the company still needs to improve its products. The DI Neuros 20GB HD MP3 Digital Audio Computer has a 20GB hard drive, as well as five preset buttons for tuning in to your favorite FM stations. The innovation is that the device can scan any FM radio for dead stations, so you can wirelessly broadcast music from the player. The downside is that the player's range is dismal; it has to be within one foot of the FM tuner for satisfactory playback. And the price is on the high end for the features you get.

Neuros had features like FM transmitter, ogg playability, line-in recording capability, before anyone else. The staff review is flat wrong about the one-foot transmitter range, and how far from the radio can you put the thing inside a car, anyway? I second the user finding on customer service; it is beyond good. On the two occasions I've called, I've been answered by a real human being within 30 seconds. And when something failed, I was not only instructed to return it, but a replacement was shipped the minute I dropped the bad unit off at UPS. I signed up for this site specifically to say a good word for Neuros; it's a shame no one seems to have heard of them.

I have had my 20GB Neuros from Digital Innovations for about 6 months now. I have about 8GB of music loaded, and I use their software to transfer the files by USB2.0 - I cannot tell you how much I use this thing. You can take it with you in the car, scan the radio for a dead station, and broadcast your music wirelessly through the speakers in your car! They update their firmware (which has solved the short MyFi range the reviewer talked about) as well as their software regularly, and it's all free. They also have the best Tech support I have ever encountered for any product I have owned. Period. It bothers me that great companies like these sometimes go un-noticed by the masses. I highly recommend anyone that reads this to check them out and give them a try.....
