    If you're more into DMX than MHz, the oddball MadWaves MadPlayer is for you. This handheld music generator dynamically creates hip-hop and dance tracks complete with beats, bass, and melody lines, which you can enhance with samples and export to MIDI files. The MadPlayer also serves as a portable radio, SmartMedia-based MP3 player, and karaoke machine. The user interface is a bit awkward, but the algorithm-based music generator is very impressive.
