Good news, music lovers — Best Buy has launched a new iTunes gift card promotion, which essentially gives you free money towards Apple’s online music store.
The big box electronics retailer has knocked $20 off the price of the $100 Apple iTunes gift card, now selling it for just $80. The sale is available through Best Buy’s website, and you can choose to either pick up your gift card at a local store or have it delivered to your home with free standard shipping.
As of now, it appears the sale is only available on the $100 iTunes gift card. All other denominations of iTunes gift cards from Best Buy are not marked down.
As is always the case with deals of this sort, users should act fast if they want to take advantage of the sale. Various tech blogs over the weekend claimed the sale was only good for Sunday, but as of Monday morning it was still available. There’s no official word as to when the promotion will expire.
Best Buy periodically marks down iTunes gift cards and other Apple products. The retailer in January offered all four MacBook Air models for $200 off with free shipping.
Meanwhile, Apple last month reached a deal with iTunes customers who sued Cupertino in 2011 for the “unlawful exploitation” of children (and their parents’ wallets) via in-app purchases. As part of the arrangement, Apple will refund customers whose children inadvertently ran up bills via in-app purchases, and offer a $5 iTunes credit for their troubles.
