If you’re looking to upgrade to Apple’s latest iPhone 5, but don’t want to spend up to $300 for a new smartphone, you might be in luck. AT&T is now offering a refurbished version of the iPhone 5 starting at $99.
The 16GB version of the iPhone 5 – in black or white – is now on sale via AT&T’s website for $99. The 32GB version will set you back $199.99, while the 64GB is $299.99. That’s $100 off what Apple and the carriers are offering for a brand-new smartphone.
According to AT&T, refurbished phones are previously owned devices that have been returned and restored to “the same functional requirements as a new device.” Refurbished Apple devices are covered by a 14-day return policy, though AT&T will charge a $35 restocking fee.
AT&T also offers the refurbished iPhone 4S starting at $0.99 for the 16GB version and $99.99 for the 32GB. Apple currently sells the brand-new 16GB iPhone 4S for $99.99. AT&T customers can also get a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S III starting at $29.99, a Galaxy Note for $29.99, a Nokia Lumia 900 for $0.99, and more.
Apple also has a refurbished section of its website, but it only offers the Mac, iPod, or iPad. Earlier this week, however, there were reports that Apple is selling its refurbished products via eBay with the username refurbished_outlet.
