Although Sony has been showing the camera sine early this year, today the company officially announced its new Alpha A900 DSLR digital camera. The A900 features a full-frame 35mm CMOS sensor, 3-inch LCD display, and a resolution of 24.6 megapixels, along with dual BIONZ image processors and the capability to shoot five frames per second.
Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 Review

Snip:"The Exilim EX-Z1050 is as ordinary as can be, looking like every other silver-bodied “Made In China” camera on the market (and there are dozens of them). To spice things up a notch, the digicam is also available in black, blue and pink to match your mood or clothing. The front is dominated by the 3x optical zoom that translates to 38-114mm in 35mm terms. When you power up, it pops out; when shut down it retracts into the body and there’s a built-in lens cover. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. You’ll also find the flash, an AF Assist lamp, microphone and a few decals touting the brand and 10.1-megapixel resolution."Read the full

Nikon Coolpix P5000 Review

Snip:"The Nikon Coolpix P5000 looks like a thinner version of the zillions of 35mm point-and-shoot cameras lying in drawers around the world. Film as we all know is deader than the popularity of Congress and GWB. Overall the body has a nice textured finish, a comfortable pistol grip and even a non-skid pad to rest your right thumb when you’re framing your shots. Very nicely done. The black-bodied camera measures 3.9 x 2.5 x 1.6 (WHD, in inches) and weighs 8.4 ounces including battery, card and strap. It feels a lot lighter than it looks, which is good since this is camera for carrying around all the time in your pocket or purse."Read the full Nik

Canon PowerShot SD1000 Review

Snip:"The SD1000 is a very compact camera (3.38” wide x 2.11” high x .76” diameter), and it weighs a feathery five ounces with battery and SD card. Hold this one in your hand and you’ll be amazed — it is really small. Canon sent us a camera with a black circle in the silver box; I liked it, since it’s such a throwback. For those with different tastes, the company has one with a silver-toned circle. It’s your call. Within the circle is the 3x Canon zoom lens with the traditional focal length of 35-105mm (in 35mm terms). The front has a flash, mic, AF Assist sensor, and a peephole for the optical viewfinder, something rarely found these days — especially on cameras this small. Y...

Nikon D40 Review

Snip:"Nikon caused quite a stir in December 2006 when the D40 arrived. Nikon typically goes for the higher end and feels consumers should pay a bit more for its uptown brand. I cut my teeth on the fabled Nikon F2 35mm camera back in the day and always have a soft spot for the company. But there are limits. There’s no reason to spend a bundle on a D-SLR when the 8MP Canon Digital Rebel XT and 6MP Pentax K100D are around for under $600. In a turnaround, Nikon met the competition head-on with the 6.1-megapixel D40. And this camera is clearly targeted to D-SLR newbies unlike the recently reviewed Pentax K10D. Should you go for this one or set your sights a bit higher? Let’s find out… "...
