Pioneer VSXD510. DTS at a cheap price.

Pros: Cheap. Good sound for the ordinary person.
Cons: Bass could have a little "ooomph". Spring clip speaker posts.
The Bottom Line: For the price you can get it for, this is a remarkable receiver. Everything the average person could ask for. Enough in/outputs to cater for everyone, and good sound.

Pros: Low price, good sound, lots of features, plenty of power for most.
Cons: Can't directly increase bass or treble in surround mode.
The Bottom Line: A great receiver for those seeking an entry level receiver superior to those included in "home-theater-in-a-box" systems.

Pros: Awesome sound, sweet price, simple design
Cons: small buttons on the remote, no hookups for B speakers
The Bottom Line: Great sound, great power, nice looks, useful design. No real complaints about anything. Remote does suck, but is useful once you get used to it.

Pros: Doblby Digital, DD 5.1, DTS. Quality sound. Good amount of inputs.
Cons: You NEED the remote. Not loud with sat. speakers -of course
