Pros: hard drive, picture quality, high speed dubbing, editing features.
Cons: error messages: disk needs to be cleaned or is damaged, cannot create thumbnails in recording.
The Bottom Line: if you record a lot of content to DVD, like to edit, remove commercials, I'd recommend. otherwise, look at other recorders on the market now.

Pros: Record TV shows to DVD after editing out the Commercial breaks. Stereo Audio Meters
Cons: Slow at loading DVD's Table of Contents
The Bottom Line: I like Toshiba's approach to the deck and plan on purchasing the newer Toshiba RD-XS35 HDD / DVD recorder to fill the void while my older units are upgraded.
