Annoying Glitches

Pros: Solid, metal case, great looking recordings. More below
Cons: Bad Software, Locks Up, Fails to Record Lots more below.
The Bottom Line: Discontinued so hard to find anyway but to be avoided. Glitches and problems far outweigh the end result. Two Stars only because it does actually produce recordings. I advise avoiding it.

Excellent and irritating

Pros: digital tuner, picture quality, supported disc formats
Cons: maddening scheduled recording gotchas, slow tuning/turn-on response
The Bottom Line: It works to get those family movies from tape to disc, and as a stop-gap recorder until we settle on a dvr (looking forward to fios)

Some steps forward, some back

Pros: QAM tuner for cable local channels to be viewed in HD
Cons: Flexible recording not available from internal VCR to dvd.
The Bottom Line: The EZ37V is very good, but if you have used its predecessor, the ES35V, then you might be a bit disappointed at what is missing.
