Cost-cutting decreases reliability

Pros: Good value, shock-resistance for mild jogging
Cons: Tempermental On/Play button, no real battery monitor
The Bottom Line: Check out the Sony alternative. It's $5 more, but probably will be worth it.

Make a $50 investment last several years

Pros: Cheap, reliable, excellent battery life, good sound, no skipping whatsoever.
Cons: doesn't come with a modem (kidding)Like most CD players headphone is poor.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking just for a CD player and want it to be good, that's it. Mine has lasted 3 years of use and abuse.

Pros: long battery life, 40 second anti-shock memory,reasonable price
