Engineering philosophy makes this drive a poor choice.

Pros: Metal enclosure acts as heat sink to keep drive cool and quiet without a fan.
Cons: Proprietary hardware-based encryption increases risk of catastrophic failure.
The Bottom Line: The drive died in less than a year of active use, and its proprietary encryption makes disaster recovery less likely. A risky proposition at best.

NOT FOR MACINTOSH!!!

Pros: Nice enclosure. Well built drive. Pleasant customer service reps. Makes a nice aluminium paperweight.
Cons: Complete piece of bantha fodder. Useless garbage if you have a mac.

Don't buy this if you have a mac... terrible terrible software, comes with a ROM partition that pops ...
