Pros: Divx Certified, Worldwide weight of Philips brand behind divx technology.
Cons: Too many models (for differenent countries) behaving differently.
The Bottom Line: If you are one of those intelligent people who know and already use Divx format, just go for this or any other brand Divx certified players.

Yippee - A DVD Player That Does Play All!

Pros: Compatible with multiple burn formats, multiple branded/nonbranded discs and plays Divx. Firmware/codes available.
Cons: Lacking independent eject button on remote. Forward/Reverse speeds 8x max. Didn't come with S-Video cable.
The Bottom Line: Philips DVP642 Divx progressive scan DVD player's features and recognized formats are incredible - more bang for the buck. The low price won't break your budget. Firmware and codes availability.
