Pros: IT'S GREAT WATCHING A SHOW WHEN I WANT.

Pioneer DVR-810H DVD Recorder / Player with TiVo - If you can live with limitations

Pros: Video Quality, Faroudja DCDi, up conversion, TiVo Basic, Easy Recording of programs in Now Playing.
Cons: No editing, can't record transferred content, low quality input, no flexibility, Disk at once, expensive.
The Bottom Line: It's a good unit if you only make DVD's from the "Now Playing" and watch DVD's. It is not suited to do anything else. It's a bit pricy.

The Future is NOW!

Pros: So easy to use...You'll wonder why you didn't have one before!
Cons: You can only record one channel at a time...it needs a dual tuner.
The Bottom Line: This is the future of recording from broadcast/cable/satellite. VCR's can't compete with the funtionality.

Great second DVR - not versatile for TV junkies

Pros: records quicker than real time - fill up full DVD in one hour
Cons: can't copy transfered shows from other tivo, stuck with original record speed, can't customize menus
The Bottom Line: If you know how you are going to use the 810 it is great. If this is your first system I would get the Tivo and a DVD separately.
