Great build quality and slick, tweakable menus.

Pros: Build quality Appearance IDE-based DVD recording drive Interface
Cons: Alfa Romeo-esque charms ( "sex appeal" with so-so reliability) Recording drive will be unreliable. No EPG (Why?)
The Bottom Line: The RDR-GX7 is a great DVD recorder with plenty of tweakable options and a menu that puts modern DVD recorders to shame. Drive reliability is a concern.

Pros: Picture quality
Cons: Sound levels, menuing system, overall interface, slow disk loading and unloading
The Bottom Line: If you have a way to transfer the recorded content using a computer-based tool such as Sonic MyDVD, then this is the machine for you.
