Celestron Firstscope 60 EQ Deluxe, a good start.
Pros: surprisingly good optical performance in a 60mm size telescope.
Cons: Performance is limited to bright objects such as planets and the moon.
The Bottom Line: The Celestron Firstscope 60 EQ Deluxe is a very good small refractor with surprising optical performance in its price and size class.

Probably Shouldn't Be Your First
Pros: Low price, not quite your average department store telescope
Cons: Low price means low quality, wobbly mount, too plasticky
The Bottom Line: Skip it. For the $60 I paid for this, you can buy a good pair of binoculars which will be much more versatile and portable than the Celestron telescope.
