Canon 12x36 IS II Binoculars
Pros: optics, image stabilizer, light weight, softer rubber exterior, long battery life
Cons: no IS timer button, no twisting rubber eyeguards, kidney beaning, eyepiece covers, no objective covers
The Bottom Line: Try the image stabilizer button before you buy. If in doubt get the 15x50 IS that has a 5 minute IS timer button (but - heavier, harder rubber, smaller fov).

Wow! IS is truly revolutionary - makes 12x36 practical
Pros: Incredibly clear/bright; no jiggle; revolutionary
Cons: a bit expensive; a bit heavy
The Bottom Line: Buy them immediately! The IS puts them heads beyond any comparble non IS binocs and lets you get the extra detail of 12x without fatigue.
