An Inexpensive Radio That's Hard to Beat

Pros: Ultra-low price, excellent audio for a radio of this size, good shortwave performance
Cons: Tuning dial hard to read and inaccurate
The Bottom Line: The Coby CX-CB12 is a $15 radio that performs as well in most categories as a $50-$70 radio

OK performance, but FM is lacking

Pros: Inexpensive, multiband radio
Cons: FM performance is very poor if you are close to a FM station
The Bottom Line: Not bad for the money, but the jWin JX-M14 costs the same and works better.

Pros: Cheap, easy to operate, comes with earphones, ideal beginners SWL radio.
Cons: No external antenna outlet, cheap material.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this radio for beginners, even for average SW listeners.

Pros: Cheap! Sensitive enough on MW and SW, and excellent audio for its class.
Cons: Not-so-hot construction, band switcher is plenty awkward, analog tuner
The Bottom Line: really cheap, clear audio, can be repeatedly dropped, easy on batteries, gets the entire shortwave spectrum, what more do you want?
