Cons: Lousy user interface, Sluggish deck handling, Programming interface absurdly stupid, Won't accept some VHS tapes
The Bottom Line: Avoid this VCR. Most irritating of all is about 15% of standard VHS tapes won't go into this unit. Programming is moronically painful. Easy to mess up.

A very good VCR at a low price
Pros: Feature-rich for price. Smart commercial skip and movie advance features work well.
Cons: Noisy when rewinding, remote needs improvement, rejects some tapes, lasted only 2 years.
The Bottom Line: This is a nice VCR for time-shifters, although the fact that mine only lasted two years causes some concern.

Panasonic PV-V4612S: Could have been a contender.
Pros: Commercial Advance works well. Excellent value.
Cons: Uncomfortable remote control. Many features are poorly implemented.
The Bottom Line: While Commercial Advance is great for TV time-shifters, I would look at other VCR's, paying special attention to the remote control features and ergonomics.

Pros: Easy to set up, Commercial Advance and Movie Advance.
Cons: Instruction manual not very friendly, too easy to hit manual tracking on remote.
