Fine now that the temps are up. Pushing 80 today with the rest of the week looking as warm. Bout freaking time too but I'm not looking forward to cutting grass again.

Been following the crazy chit with North Korea. This guy Kim is just trying to prove a name for himself and if he doesn't watch it he could start WW3. His country wouldn't last long but the ripple effect through China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, ect could wind up costing the US billions. Something we CERTAINLY can't afford. Seems every day he's provoking the world in one way or another. Some of the propaganda vids he's pushing are so incredibly outlandish it's not funny. He keeps his people in such fear that they HAVE to honor him or spend eternity in one of many concentration camps where people are beaten, r@ped, overworked, malnourished, ect. The crazy sob needs assassinated. Pronto.

Yeah I'm getting kind of sick of the media on this one. They are ALL over it yet fail to deliver any real news. I mean I watched CNN (my own fault) last night and must have seen the same clips at least 100 times in an hour. Even 24+ hours later we're bombarded with the same info/lack there of. I was also a bit disturbed watching Wolf Blitzer and his show. They actually had a doctor on the show and Wolf asked him some very specific questions like what's involved with amputations and to go into as much detail as possible with the severity of the wounds and such.

Really? is THAT what we want to see? 3 people died and 170+ injured. I don't need the graphic details on all their injuries because CNN doesn't have anything better to report. The media will print whatever it feels will give them ratings.

Yeah well the sad part is the remaining suspect's aunt and Father are defending them and claiming it was an FBI setup. That their boys are angels. Yeah, angels that shoot at and throw bombs at police, carjack, and possess illegal firearms and explosives, some of which were strapped to one of the bomber's chest. Innocent people don't run from the cops. They have so much evidence against them yet the conspiracy theorists are out there, waiting for that nibble to bite. He even confessed for crying out loud. They discovered more IEDs which only means they were planning future attacks. Sick world we live in.

Now if you're a defender of the 2nd amendment then you can always claim:

"Well I guess this means we need to ban and outlaw bombs, because they kill people". But.................

Well I just pulled the trigger on a new audioque hdc3 12 d2 copper coils for 266.75 shipped. I got to put at least one of my two sound stream dtr amps on it. They make 2500 rms each at a factory stable .5 ohms and probably 1200 - 1300 at 1 ohm.

I got a new saw.

Only took 2 months to deliver.

Gave my old one to pops. He was pleased.

I tell ya you can't beat the value on this. A 12" compound, laser guided, sliding miter saw for $145 shipped. $129 at the store. I've owned previous versions of it and had little complaints. It's comparable to $500+ saws too. Perfect for the weekend warrior like myself. Gotta love new toys!

Naw it was on back order. Apparently because of the exposure and price far too many bought one against what they had on hand. Worst of it is I could have picked the same saw up at the store not 5 miles from me.

What's up guys. Hope everyone is doing well.

Just found out my oem stereo plays DTS or Dolby Digital music cd's or Dvd audios or videos. So I found a site to download some DTS 5.1 music. I downloaded Santana and Metallica in DTS 5.1 format. Damn the sound quality is so insane. Listening to music in surround sound is unreal. I love it. LOL.

Yeah I play them too. Not like I used to though. Mainly a few cards of bingo and some slots. NEVER pay for them!!

Been tossing around the idea for my kids this summer of having a backyard movie night. Set up the projector and a 10' screen, stereo and a few speaks. Both my son and daughter can have a sleep over party in tents with friends. One for the girls and one for the boys. Pizza, popcorn, you name it. I have a ton of glow sticks and the more I think about it I want to do it. Ironically though my kids aren't as psyched. Why? Because they would rather have an indoor sleep over where they have all their electronic gadgets and conveniences. I don't know, as a kid this would be epic for me. Talk of the town kinda thing. Me and the other parents kicking it on my deck while everyone watches the movie(s). Then a fire in the pit just before lights out. This is just a net pic I stole but you get the idea.

Paul,
I see you've got a CM saw. Have you ever made a picture frame? Is the saw, when set at 45 REALLY at 45?
I can't believe the prices I'm hearing to frame up a (rather) Large photo I just took. Pic is 60"x14" and I'm hearing 400$ UP....and I mean UP.

Nobody will just sell me frame molding. The piece of acrylic as cover must be UV proof and I was told prices up to 600$ JUST for that.

It's one of these 'secret handshake' deals.

Leo I have a Harbor Freight, 12", laser guided, compound miter saw that is currently my second. I HAVE to say it is by FAR the best investment I made. I even gave my first to my Father who asked when given....."You mean this is now mine?". You are throwing out there a price of $400 for the frame? Well this saw is comparable to saws costing 3X as much and only set me back $140, shipped!! Of course this is in the US. I have given my reviews of the saw on the website and recommended it to friends as well. If you have a need for such a saw for even a single project it's worth it. I do have reservations about a few minor issues but in the end they are more than acceptable for the value.

Bottom line is yes, you're probably better off buying the saw yourself and making the frame as well. Tolerances on even the cheapest tools are within a 1/4 degree. As long as you're not NASA or the KGB you should love the outcome lol.

Is the pic of the Harbor Freight tool?
Don't forget, I'm going to be handling sticks OVER 6' long, though no more than 4"X2"...if that.
I have a Harbor Freight no more than a 20 minute drive. I bought a round over carbide router bit from 'em....something like 6$ or 7$ and it is fine. I ran tests on Bamboo which IS nasty stuff to route. Neighbor loaned me his router / table for the half hour it took to make some noise.

I'll go down sometime this afternoon and check it out.....though it is an expense I'd hoped to avoid. Maybe It'll come in handy when I reframe my Maggies?

Yup pic is my new saw. For one project you'll be fine with setting up a temporary extension to accommodate the 6' lengths. the 2-3 drawbacks I have are minor.

1. When opened and saw in its' upright position it is not balanced properly. Meaning it tips back on its' own weight with little effort. I have to assume the new location of the motor is the cause. Seeing as you're supposed to securely anchor the saw anyway it shouldn't be a problem.

2. The laser. Not as powerful as previous model but IS a hardwired laser so there aren't any batteries to go dead and replace. Activated by the power switch. I got used to not using the laser on my first saw so I'm sure to just ignore this feature. Calibration is difficult as well and something the instructions don't touch.

3. This is a belt driven saw that the website doesn't sell replacements for that I could find. That means you're on your own should/when the belt fails. There's also no instructions on replacement so you better have a half decent pair of hands when the time comes.

I've kinda lost a little ambition playing candy crush. The current level I'm stuck on robbed me. I had a run of combos that netted me over 400,000 points and cleared all the jelly. I was stoked. Then it said I didn't clear them all and started over! They were ALL gone and I had the highest score on that level ever I just know it and it wouldn't give it to me. I was "crushed". <======= Did ya get that? Lol.

The other thing is that I found out there are like 400+ levels on that game. I'm on like 45. It would take me forever to get to the end. Then they would just add more to keep you playing. Pointless.

Yeah it's bad when you spend 2 weeks stuck on a level your 10 year old daughter beats in 3 tries. Just goes to prove it's all about luck. I have to add that I am one of those who play the game free of paid boosters so many dish it out for. I WILL NOT PAY $.01 TO PLAY A GAME ON FB. If I can't beat it straight......so be it.

Paul, I hope that when your daughter hits 15 or 16 you don't have to rip some 20 year olds lungs out.

I wanted to send both of my nieces to a nunnery.

I'm not even sure I believe in Co-Education, any more! Keep 'em apart until the Hormones settle down, at least a little.

Are you guys advanced CC members? What game is the 'campaign' game?

Stuck on 107 right now. I can't believe they offer a 3 booster pack for only $9.90 if you're stuck! That's just for one level. With 450+ levels on that game they sure are looking to get rich quick. That's just insane to expect average people to pay that much for a 90 second game, that you'll NEVER own. The addictive psychology built into the game I'm sure was studied and applied on an advanced level to maximize profitability. Based off a 10 year old game to boot.

Leo, I'm torn. My daughter has 3 things on her list that her mother shoots me down on. Laptop, Ipad or new cell phone. Pretty high priced B-day gifts for an 11 year old.

Wish I could help, Paul.
Peer pressure at that age is IMMENSE and only gets worse. Look, I'm 60+ and am probably out of touch. I don't think 12 year olds, should wear makeup either....but there goes Lolita on her way to school.....now.
As for the other electronic toys for an 11 year old? Don't know about them, either. MAYBE a 'kids phone'...if they still make such a thing. Certainly NOT a full-featured phone where she'll be TEXTING her buddies 12 hours a day on weekends and for several hours at the end of every school day. I picked up my neices bill for cell phone as an add-on to my account. Within a couple months I'd bumped plans to about a million hours and had texting privilages for Earth, Mars AND Venus....as well as whatever else. The kid BROKE 3 or 4 phones in about 18 months and used ALL my upgrades. She even promised me the 50$ I spent on the LAST one....which I'll go to my final rest without ever seeing......
Keep in mind that LA is 'experimenting' with iPads for ALL students. This will be about a 1 BILLION $$$ experiment. In the 'trial' program, the kids defeated the security software / protocols within 36 hours. Nobody apparently knows who will pick up the tab for 'damages'.....though I'm sure I'll end up picking up part of the bill....though I DON'T live anywhere near LA.
I'm in favor a a computer for kids. Multiples, even...depending on homework load and need AND interest. However, they should be in a PUBLIC space in the house so you can Keep an EYE on things. I just think that most public posting sites that kids get involved in....the 'Chat Room' situation are flippin' CESSPOOLS. The cops have an auto mated program now...the 'PervoMatic 3000' which identifies pervs and does an artiicial intelligence type protocol and tries to identify these ....mainly men...who are prone to prey on the youth.
It's a frightening time to live. I'm not even sure any more if I support co-education. Both my neices were Boy Crazy from a too-young age and it helped 'em make some poor decisions....though the eldest is pretty bright and self motivated. The other? Not as bright and has other issues. Not knowing how to text 200 words / minute isn't one of 'em.

Maybe you should send her to a nunnery? I have no idea.

Oh yeah Rovin. Level 147 is a beeotch. It's where I'm at right now.

Leo I'm old enough to remember when it was safe to play outside and trust your neighbors. We chalked hash lines in the street and played football until the street lights came on. Unfortunately it was also a time where things that were considered "not for kids" wasn't as easily available as today. It's forcing our youth to grow up faster than they should. They NEED to experience youth as long as they can because when it's gone it's gone for good. I miss the drive in and Saturday morning cartoons. It was a much simpler and comforting time to live in.

The other thing I noticed is the candies do NOT drop randomly. They are engineered to fall in a certain pattern. I say this because on the level I'm on all the right combinations fall into place so easily for the first say 15-20 moves. Then it gets harder to match 3 for the next 10-15. After 40 you never seem to get the combination you need to get that LAST jelly. There will be a ton of blue the first 10 moves but if all you need is one more you can spend your last 20 moves to get it and it won't give it to you. It's maddening really lol.

Yup. She may even urge you to sell your ride. That's how I lost my IROC Z-28. She said it wasn't practical. So I blindly traded it in. Now that she's gone I just want my car back!!

LOL. I don't have to worry about my car. In fact she wants a Mercedes as well. So we are looking at the Mercedes GLK. It's a small SUV and she likes it.

Yep, here!
I'm waiting on some Summer Movie reviews!

I saw the Tom Cruise flick and it was pretty good..but unless you are used to 'time travel', paradox-type movies, you may end up scratching your mellon.

'The Edge of Tomorrow' is at least an '8'.

Dawn Of the Planet of the Apes was a great movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy was good also but not as good as the Apes movie.

Kids LOVED Guardians. Apes as well.

Just got back from a long trip to GA visiting the folks. 1650 mile round trip drive. Would have flown but that would have cost me $1000 as opposed to the $200 in gas and tolls. Still though a 14 1/2 hr drive sucks no matter where you're going. My daughter took a pic of Atlanta as we passed leaving the south this early am.

Once again I will await Summer Movie reviews. Maybe, just MAYBE, something with some originality will come out or NOT be based on mindless ACTION of comic book proportions.
You know, something LITERATE and ENGAGING.
