Hello, and I hope this is the right category? I'm a little confused...

I wonder if and how can be fixed the volume button of a combo radio/turntable/audiotaping set?

It's an old Lloyd's model R802, Series 744A. It works perfectly except for the volume button. The manual doesn't list any "troubleshooting" and I believe the company doesn't exist any longer...

The volume "button" actually works by sliding it up or down for more or less volume, and now it makes static noises at touching it, but it works without noise ONLY if it's extremely loud or extremely low...to inaudible!

If anyone knows if and how this can be fixed, I'll appreciate it a lot to hear from you. :-) Adela
