Just a couple pics of my final project for my machining class. Made it out of a solid piece of aluminum on a milling machine.

When I was finished machining the aluminum one I used it as a pattern to make one out of cast iron.

My next project is going to be the Ascendant Audio symbol.

Good job, looks great! I don't know anything about machining, so, how difficult will the ascendant symbol be compared to the jl?

Also, would you be able to machine sunwoofer motors after you are done with school?

what kind of machine were you using? IM assuming a bridgeport. My dad was a machinist for almost 30 yrs at gillette he was running some serious machines mazek's and wat not. We have a cnc machine and a lathe in our garage lol. there fun when u have nothing else to do

Thanks guys!!!

Hopefully I can get the Ascendant symbol done before this semester lets out. It will be a little more difficult than the JL. I did the JL first mainly because of simple angles and all straight lines.

@Naledge
Hopefully when I get out of school there wont be too much that I couldn't tackle. That would be a sweet project!

@charlie
Yup just a simple knee and column, nothin special. Wish I had a lathe/cnc in my garage, I dont think I would ever turn them off! **Jealous**

You can make serious cake if you learn how to program and run a CNC. I know a couple complete jackasses that make $25 an hour. Nice job on that JL by the way.

They are about 3 3/4" tall and about 4 3/4" wide. I plan on making the Ascendant symbol much bigger than the JLs.
