What a game played by GB. Did anyone see Brett Favre almost get sacked, stumble towards the sideline and give a nice shovel pass for the first down while looking down?

Next up, Jags at Pats.

Soon as that happened i said "that will be on the all-time Brett Favre highlight reel right there". Classic gutsy Favre play.

packers looked strong.

Go Jags!!!(i say that with little confidence lol)

Jags problems in this game: 1. weak pass game. As great as their run attack is, the pats are gonna be able to stack the box cuz the jags' pass attack is weak. 2. Jags' defense is great, but they aren't known for blitzing much, which was key for the teams who almost beat the pats this season (eagles, ravens, colts...)

Jags need great performances by their front 4, and David Garaard + the receivers/TEs.

I like the G-men in the last divisional game. Don't ask me why, they're 0-2 against the boys this year. But i dunno, i didn't like the way the boys finished the season. Whereas the G-men, even though they lost, i think gained a ton of confidence from the pats game. And winning a playoff game only added to that i think.

As for the colts vs. bolts game...UGH. I don't think the chargers will have much of a shot at beating the pats.

lol Chad i noticed that too. It was like a 13 year old girl and as soon as they put her on camera, BOOOOOOOOO, she was like WTF!?

I think the Giants at the Packers will be a really good game actually. Eli seems to have turned into a different QB the past several weeks. I think the G-men would have a better chance at beating the Pats in the superbowl too.

Pack all the way. They spotted the seahawks 14 points and it still wasn't even a game. Favre went 18 for 23 with 173 yards and 3 TDs. With the amount of snow coming down. I think they have what it takes especially with Grant running the ball.

i like randy he's my boi. From that little press conference he did I think he's innocent. I'm not basing that on any facts or evidence or anything, just my instinctive judge of character. He seemed honest and genuine and guilt free.

if anyone should be suspended it's Bill Belicheat.

"i just really want the pats to lose."

who knows man. it's not nearly as impossible as some people make it out to be. Ravens/Eagles almost beat the pats, and they weren't even playoff teams. Chargers pulled a huge upset by beating the colts already, the Giants almost beat them in week 17, and the packers haven't played em' but what better for an upset than a little Bret Favre Magic:-)

I will say the Chargers and Green Bay will be worthy opponents...even the Giants have come a long ways to now and could surprise everybody...

IMO , the 4 remaining teams deserve to be where they're at now..and anything is possible on a given day..

If The Pats don't win it all, I can still say they had a helluva ride...and would congratulate whoever does win the SB...

Chargers and Giants have been sleepers all year, and could be very dangerous..but of couse I will still always cheer for my Patriots...

I picked the Giants to beat TB, I even picked em' to beat the Cowboys, i have to admit i backed off before this game. I kinda thought the Packers would win. But WOW.

Giants defeat Patriots 31-27 in Super Bowl XLII, book it.

Don't sleep on the Giants guys. Don't forget they lost to the Pats by only 3 points I believe just a few weeks ago. Brady was anything but stellar today and if he plays like that, we could be seeing another Manning Superbowl winner. I'm not saying the Giants will win but just don't sleep on them. Eli has found his groove in the NFL now and is playing with confidence. Their defense is strong and their line will put pressure on Tom all day long I think. Should yield an interesting game. All in all, the Pats should win.

I really wanted Favre to go all the way this year.

Well, I cant say anything, we had plenty of opportunities and we failed to capitalize on most of them. Giants won fair and square. I hope they beat the Patriots, not because they beat GB, but because I just dont like all the hoopla of them being this "perfect" team.
I think they're a "great" team with a good amount of luck. Do they deserve to be in the Superbowl?, HELL yes, but they're not perfect. There's only one team left that can prove it haha, Go Giants.

Sincerely,
a Pack Fan

Got this today lol.

No wonder the Patriots can't lose.

God asks Peyton Manning: "What do you believe?"

Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says,
"I Believe in hard work and in staying true to family and friends. I Believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by
my Fans."

God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and Offers him a seat to his left.

Then, God turns to Ben Roethlisberger and asks, "What do you Believe?"

Ben says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the
playing fields."

God is greatly moved by Ben's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Tom Brady and asks, "And you, Tom, what do you believe?"

Tom replies, "I believe you're in my
seat."

how last minute victory against one of the worst teams in the league (the ravens) be considered a perfect game? let's be honest, they are not perfect. if they were they would be 18-0, no one would have gained a yard against them, let alone scored against them. they would not have turned the ball over the entire year, nor dropped a pass, botched a play, gotten sacked, and they especially wouldn't have cheated against the jets... are the patriots searching for an undefeated season? yes. are they competing for a perfect season? hardly. be rational. understand the meaning of the word. good luck to both teams in the super bowl. should be a good game.

I think my local high school team could have beaten the Giants tonite,,and the Patriots would have got beaten by the local Pop Warner teams...I was NOT impressed with EITHER team...they BOTH sucked, and that had to be the worse Superbowl I've ever seen in my lifetime, regardless of favorites...NEITHER team deserved to win that game!...I've seen better Houston vs Miami games lately...Very disgusted with the play of Both teams...VERY uneventful and boring game, even for a Patriots fan...and any TRUE football fan, who says thats was a GOOD game by either team, then needs to start watching rain fall for more excitement...NEITHER team played liked they deserved or wanted it!

That is a complete Patriot fan cop out!!!

It was a great game, just not the type people expected. Both defenses played really well in terms of coverage and getting pressure on the opposing QB. The offenses weren't explosive or impressive, but they were efficient.

It's not like a game where guys are throwing picks and fumbling left and right where you say damn nobody really deserved to win that.

This was an intense, well played, grind it out type of game.

U people must have watched a different game than me...The O and the D sucked on bioth sides...just cause both teams played lousy offense , doesn't mean that the D was great...hell, I could have thrown better than Manning or Brady tonite..when a ball hits in U in the face and U miss it, doesn't mean the D was good...The D had NOTHING to do with it....and the play calling was horrendous...offensive co-ordinators need to be reevaluated after their decisions tonite...

I'm more than just a Patriots fan...I'm a fan of the GAME...and that was a TERRIBLE game!...I give congrats to the Giants for winning, but that ain't saying much...The Chargers and Cowboys would have probably been a better game...cause I never seen 2 teams play so poorly in 1 game...its like Rocky and Apollo fighting today,... just cause Rocky may win doesn't mean that it was a good fight!

No disrespect, I don't want to turn this into a hostile argument, but what you are saying is asinine to me. You're claiming it was the worst played game you've ever seen because of one dropped ball? I assume you're talking about the would be interception by Asante Samuel (at least i think it was him) late in the game. It happens, he didn't make the catch.

Your argument holds no ground. The teams supposedly played terribly and yet there were ONLY 2 turnovers? Both QB's threw good completion %'s? Only 9 total penalties comitted in the game? But one dropped ball makes it a terrible game?

Show me the lack of concentration with poor tackling or comitting penalties. Show me careless interceptions and fumbles. Show me a lack of effort. THOSE are characteristics of a bad game.

What you're saying is no more than a shield, a deflection of the fact that your team wasn't NEARLY as good as people thought they were, plain and simple.

Maybe the Pats lost cause they aren't as good when they can't cheat to find out what the other team is gonna do before they do it.

As much as I want to call LK a sore loser and also knowing his past here.... it pains me to say he is mostly right. This was a boring, sloppy game played in almost ideal conditions -- field and temp wise. You can't say it was snowing and the field was torn up. The Giants played a stubborn D against a seemingly confused Pats offense, it was like the Pats didn't know what to do against the defensive alignments that were thrown at them. Special teams play, which almost always heavily factors in to these games was a non-factor. The only good part of the the whole game was the last 3-4 minutes which was better than alot of SB's in recent memory. Congrats to Tom Coughlin, always admired the guy, and he deserved the win. Boston is burning as we speak. The only problem in this is that Archie is happy and that makes me sad. Congrats to the Giants on a highly improbable year and also to all of those brave souls who risked thousands of dollars to take the points and go with the Giants. Some of them just payed off their house tonight.

I was pretty close on dropping a grand on the pats just for the little turnaround. I was glad I didn't. I still lost money but only in block pools. My buddy lost $4200 himself. Even if the Pats won they wouldn't have covered the points. Shula and his gang are probably still drunk.

The D had nothing to do with it?!?!?

Come on LK. Don't be thickheaded. That is the most retarded statement I've heard you make. The Giants D basically won that game. They put pressure on Brady all day which makes Tom an average QB at best. Their secondary came up big on certain plays.

I can't believe you said D had nothing to do with this game.

Of course D was "involved" in the game...maybe U no comprende...D has to be involved since there is ONLY D and O !...A poor offense doesn't make a Good D...thats what I'm saying...NEITHER team had a Good D...or a Good O...it was a Poor GAME!

hey I have no anomosity towards the Giants...in fact, they're my favorite NFC team...yes, the won, fair and square...but I wasn't impressed with either team!

BTW...turnovers and penalities!...of course there were few...there never is many in any Superbowl!...thats a known fact!...its because in ANY Superbowl, the refs back off and don't want to slow the game down, or be the cause of the game's outcome with making a "call"...there were MANY more TRUE turnovers and penalities in that game (both teams) than the officials called..The Superbowl is a game where U can just about get anyway with anything, and officials "turn their heads" the other way in decision making and calls..

I'm not dissing the Giants, just the all around Game itself and the play of BOTH teams, and the officials...remember I also said, BOTH ways and teams..it was a boring game...of course for Giant fans it wasn't boring, cause of the unexpected outcome...but for a TRUE fan of the game of Football, the game sucked!...it was actually a disgrace to the game (including players, coaches, and officials)

Congrats to the Giants for being the winner..

This game could of gone either way
Too many turn overs as I expected
Very strong D by both teams
I thought NY D over powered NE O
When yo face a team averages 400 yards in a regular season record of 18 and 0 can't afford to play wide open (great coaching)

But the luck played a role
LK I will accept your congrats to the Giants
However I do disagree that this was any boring game by any means
This game sets highest quality of 2 strongist teams in a Super Bowl history
Best Super Bowl ever in my opinion
Time to party

King Tapeman, you deserve to party man, your hometeam won a prestigious title in all of sports and it's been a while since the Giants won a Super Bowl so go ahead and do your thing.

The Giants defense came to play. It's very hard to run a good offense when you're on your back half the time!

Just cause it wasn't 100-97 with a game winning field goal in the last second doesn't mean it wasn't exciting LK. It was a defensive battle throughout the game. Don't get me wrong cause it did get pretty slow at points but the game as a whole was pretty damn good. There was a reason why neither offenses had huge numbers, that reason is due to the fact that the better defense would win the game. And the better defense did win. Tom Brady was bad last night, wanna know why? Cause the Giants defense put pressure on him almost every play. When a qb has pressure on him every play, then its obvious that he isn't going to put up big numbers that game. I don't know what you don't understand about the fact of it was a game between the defenses.

I know if the Pats had won you'd be on here praising them as Gods and talking about what a beautifully played game they just had.

I personally am glad to see that the Pats didn't go undefeated. It would be very unfortunate to see them go undefeated when it was obvious they didn't deserve.

BTW, Bill Belicheck walking off the field early to the locker room was hysterical. He knows him and his team blew it. Way to be a 12 point favorite and blow it. While it was funny, I thought it was very poor of him to do. He's being regarded as one of the best coaches ever and to do that after a loss, just shows how big of a complete jackass and douchefuck he really is.

Boy, if the Pats won....I would have to wait till the Yanks win the World Series this year to come back on this forum just so I wouldn't be subject to all the Boston sports team worshiping!

But in all fairness, and even though I didn't think it mattered, Brady was favoring his sore foot throughout the game. And all that shoving his head into the ground didn't help the pain either! lol

Brady was knocked down 16 times, sacked 4 times and hurried over 20 times. Please tell me that this is some kind of sick, tasteless joke, LK. Giants D > Patriots O. End of story. The Giants D rode Brady's azz like Seattle Slew. By the time they finished dry humping him up and down the field I would say Giselle was wondering why she didn't play defense. Get over your disdain for "the game" and recognize reality. That was one of the best Super Bowls in recent memory.

Did you watch Tom Brady in post-game interviews? He didn't even give a sh!t. If you want to talk about a team that "didn't want to win" then aim your talks towards the Patriots.

Great point Reece
Who gets credits for knocking and sacking Tom Brady?
Isn't that how to handle a team averages 400 yards per game
Where as Eli Manning ecapes biggest 2 hits and turns the game to A Super Bowl Victory

Man give a well deserved Victory to
Giants rockies, QB, Ds and Os as well as their Coach

Yeah that was a typo, Yanks. But regardless, the David Tyree catch was probably the best ever.

I wasn't knocking you at all Reece. I was just helping your argument.

That catch will go down in history as the best play of this season and should be one of the top 5 plays of all time imo.
